Space After Retirement

I retired from position of Chairman of a PSU and tried to settle in my home in my hometown in Bokaro. The place was having my colleagues and sone college friends. All were settled with own family friends and circles difficult to get an entry by new entrant like me. There was hidden obstacle of status and all wanted me to act as past acquaintance and didn’t mind making mockery of me. I fried running down but with not much effect. I started walking in street and meeting known faces and arranging get together under leadership of longer time living person. It was temporary and then I followed female friends of wife acting like jester. I was des up with working of groups based on castes. My intellectual craving as writer started dieing. Then I adopted role of domestic help which pushed me low and frustrated. My wife also started making fun of my writings and never wanted to read any if them.

I took a snap decision to change residence to a bigger place and capital city Ranchi. I made new friends from different walid and professions and shared views on politics, national economy etc. I became more active on social media and supporter of one political party of my liking. I was now enjoying my space in many places including family, new friends and college friends. My wife found the change unbearable and my task was to keep her in positive frame. I encouraged her to join singing group knowing her interest in music. This platform started keeping her busy and I became free to engage myself in litrary activities penning down novels and stories. We both settled in our spaces but I never forget to enjoy do some cooking and follow recipies being described on facebook. Now my wife also funds new cooking tips from facebook. Thus we together could find spaces in new home, new city and new friends circle to enjoy post retirement time.
